San Francisco Bay and Wine Country

Tour Features:

San Francisco, Napa Sonoma Wine Tasting, Sausalito, Muir Wood, Food Tasting Tour of North Beach, Movie Set

Day 1 - Departure - Newark to San Francisco
Departure Newark International Airport to San Francisco International Airport where we will transfer to our hotel in the famous “Fisherman’s Wharf” district, check-in and time to freshen up.  Later we will meet for a short orientation walk in the Wharf area to become familiar with services, sites and public transportation.  Refreshments, overnight in San Francisco.

Day 2 – San Francisco “49 Mile Tour”/Muir Woods/Sausalito
Today  we will begin our tour of the City by the Bay.  Called the “49 mile tour”, it is an orientation of this richly historical city. Explore the highlights of this beautiful city by the bay. Enjoy the views of Alcatraz, SF/Oakland Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower and others. Ghiradelli Square is where you will have the chance to explore Fisherman's Wharf.  MUIR WOODS – Travel across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the coastal highlands into one of the oldest national monuments. Nestled at the foot of Mount Tamalpais is Muir Woods National Monument, one of the remaining groves of first growth coastal redwoods. The woods were named for John Muir, a 19th century naturalist. Wander through this grove of virgin Redwoods and capture photo opportunities like you’ve rarely experienced.  Then travel on to picturesque SAUSALITO which was once a fishing village and now a tiny bay side community. Quaint Victorian bungalows are built into the steep hillside and a variety of restaurants, boutiques and small art galleries line the downtown shopping district. Sausalito has a Mediterranean appeal that is often compared to the French Riviera. Overnight in San Francisco.

Day 3 – – Wine Country - Sonoma/Napa
Today we will be met by our driver/guide as we leave the city heading north to the wine country.  Here we will visit several of the magnificent estate/ranch wineries of Sonoma-Napa Carneros.  Learn about wine, brandy and champagne while enjoying the tastings.  We will have a lunch break (on your own) in the historic and picturesque town of Sonoma.  Time will be set aside for you to visit, explore or shop in this magnificent place.  Here you can visit the northern most of the California Missions, San Francisco Solana de Sonoma, with its’s characteristic adobe chapel.  The mission was founded and consecrated in 1823. We will return to the city via the Golden Gate Bridge. Overnight in San Francisco.

Day 4 – Little Italy/North Beach Walking Tour/Culinary Experience
North Beach, San Francisco's "Little Italy", awakens your senses, from the cafés and restaurants, to the smell of fresh-baked bread from 125-year-old brick ovens. Just when you think you can’t feel any more romantic, you discover quaint shops with incredible crafts and ceramics that fill you with a sense of awe. We explore the life of North Beach, as we join family bakers kneading love into every loaf of bread. And just when you think that you can’t be in any more of food heaven, we visit real coffee shops fresh roasting coffee beans daily. And, as you taste everything from cappuccinos, chocolates, breads, pastries, olive oils, specialty meats, and more, your senses and your taste buds will come alive.  The tour is an easy three hour stroll followed by the OPTION of a complete meal. Option TBA

Day 5 – Free Day
No structured tours are planned for today.  Suggestions will be available for optional tours. This will be a free day to enjoy the City on your own, site-seeing, shopping, museums, the Wharf or the many other attractions of the City by the Bay. Suggestions will be offered.  Overnight in San Francisco

Day 6 – Movie Tour & Bay Cruise
See San Francisco through Hollywood’s eyes. Bringing movies to life, San Francisco Movie Tours takes guests on fun and entertaining tours to locations made famous by both current blockbuster and classic San Francisco movies. San Francisco Movie Tours will show you all the locations for popular films. You will have the opportunity to visit these life-sized movie sets. Discover the unique sensation that is sweeping San Francisco. Hop on board, take your seats, turn off all cell phones and pagers, and enjoy the show! Later today we will re-group for a Bay Adventure Cruise: The only way to cruise the bay. An hour on the water with the Captain and crew reliving 150 years of the famous San Francisco Coast. Overnight in San Francisco.

Day 7 - San Francisco - Newark
This morning will be at leisure to get ready for our departure.  We will be transferred to San Francisco International Airport for our flight home.  We bid farewell to this beautiful paradise-like part of our great nation as we return to the Atlantic coast.
